Biographies of Cuisenaire® Rods Authors
John Bradford
John Bradford has been a math educator for over 50 years, with 35 years experience
in the classroom. He has an M.S. in Teaching of Mathematics from the University
of Illinois. Mr. Bradford has conducted many workshops on Cuisenaire Rods and
is frequently asked to serve as a guest speaker on the use of both Cuisenaire
Rods and Geoboards. He is the author of numerous magazine articles, several
teacher's manuals, and the book Everything's Coming Up Fractions with Cuisenaire Rods. He is a former member of the Jefferson County Education Association, the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Although retired from teaching, Mr. Bradford continues to tutor mathematics students and often uses Cuisenaire Rods to teach lessons to his grandchildren.
Evelyn Christensen
Evelyn Christensen has a master's degree in mathematics and a doctoral degree in mathematics education. She has taught at the elementary, middle school, high school, college, and graduate school levels. Most recently she's taught kindergarten/first grade, because that's her favorite age. As a parent of four, she's had much experience providing children with stimulating educational activities, not only in the classroom, but also in the home. In addition to Rod-Clue Puzzles, which she coauthored with her daughter Susan, Evelyn has authored more than 20 other educational puzzle books and has designed several math games. Patricia S. Davidson
Patricia S. Davidson earned her doctorate in mathematics education from Harvard
University in 1968 and has spent the past 38 years as mathematics teacher,
supervisor, consultant, author, teacher trainer, researcher, professor, dean,
and vice provost. She is dedicated to Cuisenaire Rods as an important mathematical
model and has authored and coauthored many books about their use. These include

Addition and Subtraction with Cuisenaire Rods; Multiplication and Division
with Rod Patterns and Graph Paper; Picture Puzzles with Cuisenaire Rods; Cuisenaire
