ETA/Cuisenaire
ETA/Cuisenaire, a division of A. Daigger & Company, has over 8,000
manipulative-based educational and supplemental materials for PreKindergarten
and grades K-12 that enrich teaching and engage students in math, reading/language
arts, and science.
In 1965, Harry C. Woldenberg, President of A. Daigger & Company (a distributor
of products to the scientific community since 1884), formed a division known
as Educational Teaching Aids (ETA) to fill the need in the educational market
for manipulatives dedicated to perceptual development, motor discrimination,
and eye-hand coordination for school-aged students. Since then, ETA has expanded considerably while building dominance as the
leading provider of supplemental, hands-on mathematics materials.
In 1994, ETA strengthened its role in the education industry by introducing
science materials for grades K-8. Four years later, ETA again expanded its market presence
by developing a line of hands-on reading/language arts teaching materials for grades K-6 called
Reading Rods®, followed by the publication of SunSprouts®, the company’s
first guided reading series.
In April of 2000, ETA acquired its largest math competitor, Cuisenaire,
forming ETA/Cuisenaire. The Cuisenaire acquisition expanded the scope of
instructional support materials ETA/Cuisenaire offered in math and science,
while maintaining the company’s long-standing tradition of quality
and value. Today, ETA continues to pursue opportunities to grow within its
primary and secondary markets, including pre-kindergarten, ELL/ESL, and
special education.
For more than 30 years, Dennis K. Goldman, President, has successfully guided
the company’s success by driving the development of new and innovative
products, implementing solid marketing strategies and expanding its customer
base. Under his leadership, hundreds of new products have been created,
including the extremely popular VersaTiles® and Reading
Rods® product
lines, and over 1,000 instructional texts and resources have been published.
A strong team of managers and employees has helped maintain the company’s
position as an industry leader in the supplemental learning materials marketplace.
ETA/Cuisenaire products are marketed to schools through the distribution
of catalogs, by our field sales force, an easy-to-use website, and through agreements with major
textbook publishers. Our experienced sales consultants serve our educational and corporate customers
and also represent ETA/Cuisenaire at national, regional, state, and local
educational conferences.
Since its very beginning, ETA, and now ETA/Cuisenaire, has maintained a
policy of fairness, loyalty and commitment to its employees. We strive to
provide our employees with competitive compensation, including an outstanding
array of benefit programs, and
a work environment that is conducive to personal and professional growth,
innovation,
and collaboration.
